Trump Meets Putin Envoy, Predicts Major Russia-Ukraine Deal
ndtv.com —
President Donald Trump met Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev at the White House and predicted a "very big" agreement with Russia covering Ukraine and potentially all of Europe. Trump declined to disclose discussion details. Trump said the deal would be "big, beautiful" and involve more than Ukraine, though he did not meet Ukrainian officials present. His comments raise European concerns about a pivot toward Moscow and a potentially unfavorable settlement for Ukraine. NATO allies watch for signs Trump might meet Russian demands or reduce US influence. Trump has previously touted peace deals that never materialized, while First Lady Melania Trump hosted rare US-Ukraine-Russia talks and announced a localized truce.
