Zelensky honors Melania Trump with Order of Princess Olga for Ukraine aid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded U.S. First Lady Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, First Class, according to decree No. 1079/2026 published on November 4. The award recognizes her significant personal contribution to humanitarian support for Ukraine, including advocacy and charity work for Ukrainian children and citizens affected by Russian aggression, as well as those illegally deported or forcibly displaced from occupied territories. Melania Trump participated in humanitarian initiatives, including writing a letter to Vladimir Putin in August 2025 about Ukrainian children separated from families, which reportedly helped reunite 34 children. In October 2026, she facilitated a temporary ceasefire near Oleshky in the Kherson region, enabling evacuation of about 800 civilians and delivery of humanitarian aid.
