SpaceX secures $40 billion loan for AI chips; Musk predicts neocloud extinction

3dnews.ru (Russian) —

Elon Musk announced SpaceX secured a $40 billion loan deal to purchase GPUs, predicting that most of the over 200 "neocloud" companies will fail to survive due to increasingly difficult AI credit conditions. Musk stated SpaceX's investment-grade credit rating and revenue from Starlink and orbital cargo missions enabled the deal. He forecast a "guppy-level extinction" and consolidation among neocloud firms, adding SpaceX will not acquire any of these companies. Bloomberg reported negotiations are ongoing, with final terms expected soon. The debt will be held by a special vehicle to protect SpaceX's credit rating, and the GPUs will arrive in the first two quarters of next year.
