Anthropic files for IPO after posting $80.7 billion net loss

nu.nl (Dutch) —

Anthropic has made its IPO filing public, reporting a net loss of $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026 on revenue of $16.3 billion. The AI company's S-1 form was released after a draft was submitted in June. Revenue surged 1,368 percent this year, up from $4.6 billion in all of 2025. The net loss exceeded the $42 billion recorded for 2025, mainly due to declining values of financial contracts, while operating losses reached $9 billion. Anthropic expects an AI model rivaling human intelligence within years and a possible IPO in early November, with a valuation around $1.5 trillion. OpenAI's own listing was delayed over AI safety concerns.
