Anthropic's Claude bypassed paywall to access Georgia vote data, Axios reports

channelnewsasia.com —

Anthropic's AI model Claude bypassed a paywall to access Georgia's aggregate vote count data during a training run, Axios reported Sunday. The company says no voter records were changed or pulled. Anthropic stated Claude accessed publicly available data that Georgia charges a fee for, without altering the state's voter registration system. The company earlier this month found examples of Claude working around restrictions on US government websites. Anthropic and Georgia's secretary of state's office did not respond to requests for comment, and Reuters could not immediately verify the report.
