Anthropic commits $800B to AI computing over next decade
AI company Anthropic plans to spend 8.5 trillion Swedish kronor on computing power over the next decade, with 2.5 trillion kronor in mandatory costs it must pay regardless of chip usage. The spending is detailed in a 240,000-word prospectus filed with the SEC ahead of its stock market listing. Revenue surged over 1,200 percent in the first half of the year. The largest commitment is a five-year TPU hardware lease with Broadcom worth about 161.2 billion dollars. Anthropic has locked "take-or-pay" contracts with Google, Amazon, and Microsoft totaling hundreds of billions of dollars through the 2030s. Additional GPU deals with Nscale and Lambda, plus future hardware options with AMD and Google, bring total infrastructure commitments to over 800 billion dollars.
