Anthropic files for IPO, targets November Nasdaq debut

nrc.nl (Dutch) —

Anthropic has filed its prospectus with the US SEC, confirming its planned stock market debut in November, ahead of rival OpenAI. The AI company's filing reveals its financials and vision for the first time. The 335-page document shows revenue of over $16 billion in the first half of 2026, nearly 14 times higher than the same period last year. However, Anthropic reported a net loss of nearly $81 billion, largely due to a one-time accounting charge of $72 billion related to convertible bonds. The company warns extensively about AI risks, dedicating 94 pages to potential catastrophic and existential dangers. Founders Dario and Daniela Amodei retain 50.1 percent voting control, and the IPO on Nasdaq will be led by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley before Thanksgiving.
