Anthropic reveals details of historic Nasdaq debut

bbc.co.uk —

Anthropic has revealed details of its planned public stock listing, positioning it for what is expected to be the largest market debut in history. The AI company behind the chatbot Claude will list on the Nasdaq under the symbol ANT, with its valuation projected to exceed SpaceX's $1.8 trillion initial valuation. The number of shares and price range have not yet been determined. Founded five years ago by CEO Dario Amodei and six co-founders, Anthropic announced its intention to go public in June, making it the first true AI company to list. Its rival OpenAI has also announced plans to go public early next year. The announcement follows a wave of security breaches involving AI agents and public warnings from staff about potential harms. Anthropic reiterated its commitment to beneficial AI development while warning investors of associated dangers, amid over $1 trillion in industry AI investments over the past year.
