Ukrainian drones strike Ryazan refinery and Rostov residential areas

Ukrainian drones attacked the Ryazan Oblast in Russia on Sunday, September 6, damaging residential buildings and causing a fire at an industrial facility, according to regional governor Pavel Malkov. No casualties have been reported. Open-source intelligence analysts identified the burning facility as the Ryazan Oil Refinery, a major plant owned by Rosneft. The refinery has been targeted previously in May and July. In a separate attack, Rostov-on-Don declared a state of emergency after drones damaged three apartment buildings, injuring four people. The Russian Defense Ministry reported shooting down 258 drones overnight. In the Rostov region, falling debris also damaged a train locomotive, delaying seven passenger trains.
