Germany Prepares Drone Shield as Lavrov Accuses Berlin of Wanting War

Germany has accused Russia of daily hybrid attacks and is preparing a drone shield to protect critical infrastructure, prompting Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to claim Germany wants war. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced mobile units will form a drone shield at critical sites, with vehicles and helicopters ready to protect airspace over Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin. The shield will detect and neutralize explosive-carrying drones, following an August 4 incident at Leipzig-Halle airport. German intelligence blamed Russia for the attack, which Lavrov rejected, citing the expulsion of consulate staff and closure of the Russian House in Berlin. Over 1,000 suspected drone flights were recorded in Germany last year, targeting military sites, airports, and ports.
