Drones strike Perm, home to one of Russia's largest oil refineries

Drones attacked the Russian city of Perm on Monday, September 7, home to one of Russia's largest oil refineries, according to the Astra outlet. Local footage showed drones flying over the region. The Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery, which processes over 13 million tons of oil annually, was previously hit by a drone attack on August 21, reportedly damaging a primary crude distillation unit. A fire also occurred at the Proton-PM rocket engine plant on September 2. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the August 21 strike on the Perm refinery, located over 1,600 km from Ukraine's border, along with attacks on the Marinovka military airfield and targets in the Black Sea. The attack caused temporary flight restrictions at Bolshoye Savino airport.
