Germany drafts defense plans against Russian hybrid attacks

Germany's government has drafted security plans to bolster defenses against Russian "hybrid attacks," following a drone incident at Leipzig airport that Berlin attributes to Moscow. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt told "Bild am Sonntag" that such attacks, including explosive drones, agents, cyberattacks, and sabotage, are a daily reality. His ministry prepared plans for drone and cyber protection, including rapid-response units to secure airspace over transport hubs and Berlin's government district. Critical infrastructure operators will gain legal authority to actively counter drones. A national "Cyberdome" shield, a digital sensor network, will detect and intercept cyberattacks, responding to hundreds of recent incidents against German companies.
