Lavrov accuses Germany of seeking war in drone attack dispute

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Germany of "wanting war again" in an interview published Sunday, dismissing Berlin's claim that Russia orchestrated a drone attack on Leipzig airport. The German government blamed Moscow for sending "low-level agents" in an attempted "hybrid attack" with an explosive-laden drone at the eastern German airport. This week, Moscow and Berlin closed each other's cultural centres, and EU countries summoned Russian envoys. Lavrov, speaking to state TV, referenced pre-World War II tensions and accused Germany of Nazism, warning that Russian leadership would draw conclusions. Germany is a key ally of Ukraine, and the remarks came as Russia's offensive, Europe's worst conflict since WWII, continues beyond four-and-a-half years, ahead of Russian parliamentary elections.
