Russia launches massive overnight drone and missile attack on Ukraine

Russia launched a large-scale overnight air attack on Ukraine on September 7, using dozens of drones and missiles; air defense intercepted many, but some strikes hit targets. The attack involved 92 Shahed drones, including jet-powered variants, Gerbera drones, and S8000 "Banderol" guided missiles, launched from Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, occupied Donbas, and occupied Crimea. Ukrainian aviation, missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups repelled the assault, downing or suppressing 71 drones by 09:00. Strikes were recorded in 12 locations, with debris falling in one additional area, and some enemy drones remained in the airspace. This follows an evening attack on September 6 that hit four districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killing one person and injuring six others.
