Ukrainian drones strike Perm oil refinery and Rostov airbase

Ukrainian drones attacked several Russian regions overnight into September 7, including Perm Krai and Rostov Oblast. In Perm, a drone hit a multi-story building; Governor Dmitry Makhonin reported 27 drones shot down, with one person killed and four injured. NASA satellites detected a fire at the Lukoil oil refinery in Perm, which began no later than 1 a.m. local time. The facility is among Russia's largest, processing over 13 million tons of oil annually, with more than 50% of its products exported. Alternative reports suggest the target may have been a gunpowder plant or an aviation engine components factory. Telegram channel Astra geolocated smoke near the Zakamsk district, home to a gunpowder plant producing rockets and the Mashinostroitel enterprise making aircraft and solid-fuel rocket engines. Separately, channel Exilenova+ published a NASA FIRMS image showing a fire at Taganrog airbase in Rostov Oblast, which Governor Yuri Slyusar confirmed was attacked. Ukraine's military did not comment.
