UAE Embassy in Paris warns citizens to avoid protests in France
The UAE Embassy in Paris has advised Emirati citizens to avoid crowded areas in France on Saturday, October 24, due to expected protests and heightened security measures. The advisory urges vigilance and compliance with French authorities. France will deploy around 70,000 police and security personnel nationwide, Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said, following warnings of violence and looting circulating on social media. Demonstrations in Paris are restricted to a route between Bastille and Nation squares, while Lyon's city centre is off-limits. The unrest began over school conditions and has expanded into anger over the rising cost of living and the government. Nearly 2,400 people have been arrested and 1,000 police wounded in the ongoing protests.
