Italian protest group cancels rallies, will reveal gathering points at 14:30
A new protest movement in Italy, called 'Movimento 17 ottobre', has cancelled its announced Saturday demonstrations and will instead reveal three gathering points at 14:30 in each city, with a final location announced at 15:30. This follows the denial of authorization for a rally at Rome's Circo Massimo. The movement, which emerged after violent protests in Milan and Turin, stated that the previously announced squares are annulled, but they will not abandon street protests. They urge participants to organize in groups and move in processions toward the final square, describing the action as "three rivers that converge." The group asserts that laws and armored vehicles will not stop them, emphasizing a decentralized, proximity-based approach to gathering. The final destination will be communicated at 15:30, with the three columns converging into one large demonstration.
