Iran warns US that any new war could outlast previous conflict
Iran warned Sunday that any renewed war with the US could last longer than the previous conflict, following President Donald Trump's suggestion that more targets in the country could be struck. The warning came as diplomatic efforts to end the Middle East war remain stalled amid threats of resumed bombardments. Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said the American president would not dictate the timing or conditions of a future conflict's conclusion, according to state television. Trump told reporters the US could strike remaining sites, including a suspected underground nuclear complex, within 10 minutes, while US media reported he discussed escalation options with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned there are "no geographical limitations" in a conflict with America, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran remains prepared for both defence and diplomacy. The UAE said it hopes for a diplomatic breakthrough but is "braced for the worst," while Tehran residents expressed mixed feelings of helplessness and resignation.
