Iran's Supreme Leader's envoy warns of defense if US and Israel attack
Iran's Supreme Leader's representative in India, Abdul Majid Hakeem Ilahi, said Sunday that Iran will defend itself if the US and Israel launch fresh attacks, while reiterating Tehran's desire for peace. Ilahi stated Iran will never surrender to US demands, including control over its oil and resources, and is prepared to fight "with our very lives and blood." His comments followed a Saturday phone call between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on potential renewed military action. Trump claimed US operations have crippled Iran's nuclear program and military, leaving only one or two sites to eliminate. Iran's Defence Minister warned of a "proportionate, decisive" response, while Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said talks with Qatari mediators continue on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
