Trump Threatens New Strikes on Iran Nuclear Sites, Including Natanz Area
US President Donald Trump said Saturday the United States must still target one or two Iranian nuclear sites, including Mount Kolang near the Natanz complex, claiming such strikes could be completed in ten minutes. Iran has promised immediate retaliation if attacked again. Trump's remarks came amid reports of a possible short, intense military campaign after Tuesday's US midterm elections. Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned of a powerful response without geographic limits, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio said no decision had been made and diplomacy was preferred. The conflict began February 28 with US-Israeli strikes on Iran, followed by an April ceasefire and June agreement that collapsed over the Strait of Hormuz. Iran regularly targets ships there, and Saturday a tanker caught fire after hitting mines. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the moment a unique opportunity to eliminate Iran's threat.
