Iran sets conditions for US nuclear talks in Qatar
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran's conditions for resolving issues with the US include lifting sanctions and reducing American forces in the region. The Iranian delegation arrived in Qatar's capital to discuss proposals regarding the republic's nuclear program. Araghchi called a recent message from the US Vice President to Iranian leadership a positive step. Iran also demands the unfreezing of all its assets and the removal of restrictions on the oil sector before deciding on the format of future contacts. No direct meetings with US representatives are currently planned. During consultations in Qatar, Iran agreed to reduce to two days the implementation timeline for a plan to open the Strait of Hormuz.
