Trump and Netanyahu Discuss Iran Talks and Possible Resumption of Hostilities

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

US President Donald Trump held a "frank" phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about negotiations with Iran and the possible resumption of hostilities, Axios reported on Sunday, citing American and Israeli sources. Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to strike Iran immediately after the November 3 midterm elections, but Trump currently prefers to continue talks with Tehran, which worries the Israeli leader. The Israeli source called the conversation "tough," while the American source described it as "straightforward." Both the White House and Netanyahu's office declined to comment. Axios previously reported Trump might be more willing to approve a major military operation against Iran if Republicans lose the midterms, and US forces in the Middle East are reportedly ready to launch a new operation within 96 hours if ordered.
