Iran warns US that renewed conflict could be prolonged
Iran warned the United States on Sunday that renewed hostilities could be prolonged, following fresh threats from Donald Trump to target additional sites. Tehran said Washington would not dictate the timing or conditions of any conflict's end. Trump stated Saturday that "one or two sites" remain, hinting at Mount Kolang near Natanz, suspected of housing a nuclear complex. Iran denies seeking atomic weapons. Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei ordered military officials to update target lists, threatening strikes on data centers and undersea cables. The warning follows a fragile ceasefire from April that collapsed in summer, with renewed exchanges. While a lull has held since September, press reports suggest a possible short, intense campaign after Tuesday's US midterm elections. The UAE hopes for a diplomatic breakthrough but says it is prepared for the worst.
