Iran warns US that fresh strikes could spread war across West Asia
Iran's military has warned the United States against launching fresh strikes, stating that any new attack could engulf a much wider region in war. The warning follows renewed threats from Washington and Israel amid stalled negotiations. Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said Saturday that US intervention under Israeli pressure would have serious consequences, with the "flames of war" spreading further. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi added that Iran's armed forces are prepared to respond to any threat against its people. A Qatari delegation arrived in Tehran Friday for mediation, while the Wall Street Journal reported Vice President JD Vance sent a letter to Iran's security chief to restart talks. The conflict began in late February with US-Israeli strikes killing Iran's supreme leader, and Iran has since blocked the Strait of Hormuz.
