Iran's New Supreme Leader Warns US and Israel Against Renewed Attacks
Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned the US and Israel against renewed attacks, stating Iran's armed forces would determine the timing and conditions to end any future military or terrorist aggression. The warning follows threats from adversaries about possibly resuming hostilities. Khamenei issued the statement during a reported meeting with senior military commanders, including armed forces chief of staff Ali Abdollahi, military commander Amir Hatami, and Revolutionary Guard commander Ahmad Vahidi. He ordered commanders to respond to any threat with immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted action, and to update Iran's target list to include all tangible and intangible assets belonging to American-Zionist enemies. The war began on February 28 with a US-Israel attack on Iran, which was quickly retaliated against. Khamenei has not appeared publicly since becoming supreme leader following his father Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's killing in that attack. Meanwhile, Qatari delegates arrived in Tehran for talks after Iran reportedly received a letter from US Vice President JD Vance, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump has not decided on further military action.
