Trump expects new Iran talks, weighs airstrikes

money.pl (Polish) —

US President Donald Trump expects another round of talks with Iran next week while acknowledging he is considering resuming airstrikes on the country. He rejected Tehran's latest proposal during a UN meeting. Trump told Axios that his team may meet the Iranian delegation as soon as Monday, with Qatar and Middle East mediators pushing to resume negotiations. He said Iran "overplayed their hand" and that their offer is not one he would accept. Iran proposed opening the Strait of Hormuz within seven days in exchange for lifting port blockades and oil sanctions. US Ambassador Mike Waltz said the offer demanded concessions for mere declarations, while Iran's foreign minister confirmed Tehran remains ready to negotiate.
