Iran warns US via Qatar: no oil sales from Hormuz without Tehran's security

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he expects an official US response today to Tehran's proposal regarding the Strait of Hormuz, transmitted through Qatari mediators, according to state media. Araghchi, speaking in New York, said Qatari mediators presented ideas that Iran discussed, and the final US answer will be relayed through them, possibly by Tuesday. He firmly denied any Iranian flexibility on the nuclear deal, stating Hormuz is the only issue on the table. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that in a region where Iran does not sell oil, no one will, and no infrastructure will be safe if Iran's security is not guaranteed. He dismissed recent statements by Donald Trump as "delirious."
