North Korea denies US claims it hacked Binance for $6.3bn

bbc.co.uk —

North Korea has denied US allegations that it was behind the record $6.3bn hack of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, calling the claims "absurd rhetoric" and a political provocation. Kim Yo-jong, sister of leader Kim Jong Un, said Tuesday the accusations are a "sinister attempt" by Washington to damage North Korea's image. The FBI, Secret Service, and cyber analysts have blamed Pyongyang for the heist, the largest in history. The FBI has linked the attack to state-backed hacking group TraderTraitor and urged industry partners to block related transactions. North Korea has consistently denied involvement in major cyber attacks it has been accused of.
