Iran says it can reopen Strait of Hormuz in two days if US accepts conditions
Iran said it could begin a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days and start deeper war-ending negotiations if the United States accepts its conditions, according to a foreign ministry spokesman in Tehran. Spokesman Esmail Baghaei said the plan's implementation depends entirely on Washington's will, with Iran's demands including the suspension of a blockade on its ports and ships, an end to conflict on all fronts including Lebanon, unfreezing assets, and lifting oil sanctions. The diplomatic push follows a letter from US Vice President JD Vance to Iran's security council secretary, with Qatar facilitating indirect talks, while President Donald Trump has threatened new attacks and Iran continues to report incidents in the strait.
