Parents of teen with broken jaw file attempted murder complaint after school blockade shooting
A 14-year-old boy, Eden, suffered a double jaw fracture after being hit by a tear gas grenade launcher during a school blockade in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, France. His parents are filing a complaint for attempted voluntary homicide. The injury occurred on September 28 during clashes between police and students. Eden's jaw is sealed, allowing only liquid food through a straw, and he requires multiple surgeries. His parents insist he was not participating in the blockade, and his lawyer disputes claims he struck a police officer. Video footage shows an officer first using a baton, followed by a kick from the boy, before the close-range shot to the face. The police inspectorate (IGPN) has been tasked with investigating the incident.
