Parents of teen shot by police during school blockade file complaint
The parents of Eden, a 14-year-old boy seriously injured by a police tear gas grenade launcher during a school blockade in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, France, are preparing to file a complaint for attempted voluntary homicide. The teen has a sealed jaw, broken upper teeth, and must eat through a straw. The incident occurred a week ago outside Lycée Château d'Épluches, where students were protesting for better schooling conditions. Video footage shows an officer firing at Eden from 1.5 meters away after a physical altercation, leaving him on the ground. The family's lawyer calls the images "damning," while an investigation by the police inspectorate is underway. Eden reportedly told his father, "They killed my life," and the family has launched an online fundraiser that has collected over 13,000 euros for medical and psychological care. His mother expressed anguish over sending her child to school and seeing him "collapse" on screen.
