Indian Diplomat Chuckles as Pakistan PM Claims UN 'Win' Over India
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed at the UN General Assembly that his military "silenced the enemy" during the 2025 conflict with India, prompting an Indian diplomat to visibly chuckle and shake his head. Sharif praised Pakistan's response to India's Operation Sindoor, thanking US President Donald Trump for "timely intervention" he said prevented all-out war between the nuclear-armed neighbors. India has rejected claims of third-party mediation, saying the ceasefire was agreed directly. Sharif also warned that any attempt to divert Pakistan's share of Indus waters would be treated as an "act of war," after India placed the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance following the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack.
