India Slams Pakistan at UN General Assembly; Jaishankar Set to Address
India exercised its right of reply at the UN General Assembly on Saturday, rejecting Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's remarks and accusing Islamabad of terrorism, deceit, and duplicity. India warned that Pakistan's support for cross-border terrorism would have consequences. First Secretary Petal Gahlot of India's Permanent Mission made the statement, criticizing Pakistan's record on terrorism, democratic rights, and minority treatment. She asserted that terrorists will have nowhere to hide and that Pakistan's actions will not benefit it or the world. External affairs minister S Jaishankar is scheduled to address the 81st UNGA in New York during the morning session. The exchange follows Sharif's address to the Assembly, with India reiterating that repeating falsehoods does not make them true.
