India Slams Pakistan PM Sharif’s UN Speech as Falsehoods, Cites Terrorism Record

India strongly rebutted Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's speech at the UN General Assembly, rejecting his claims on Kashmir and the May 2025 conflict as falsehoods. India's First Secretary Petal Gahlot exercised the right of reply, calling the remarks "bizarre" and accusing Pakistan of cross-border terrorism. Gahlot asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, redirecting attention to Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and alleged human rights abuses there. She dismissed Pakistan's references to religious intolerance, citing its blasphemy laws and treatment of minorities, and criticized its democratic claims, referencing the 27th Amendment and army influence. India also invoked the 9/11 attacks, noting Osama bin Laden's proximity to a Pakistani military academy, to underscore Pakistan's terrorism record. The rebuttal highlighted that Sharif's assertions on the Indus Waters Treaty and Operation Sindoor gained no traction, leaving Pakistan isolated on the global stage.
