India Warns Pakistan of Severe Consequences for Cross-Border Terrorism at UN

India warned Pakistan at the UN General Assembly that it will face severe consequences if it continues engaging in cross-border terrorism. The warning came in response to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's remarks on Kashmir and the Indus water dispute. India's First Secretary to the UN, Petal Gahlot, accused Pakistan of persistently supporting cross-border terrorism and dismissed its repeated claims as falsehoods. She asserted India's inherent right to self-defense and stressed that Jammu and Kashmir is an inseparable part of India. Gahlot also criticized Pakistan's military-dominated governance, describing it as a regime run by the army, for the army. The exchange occurred during the 81st UN General Assembly session in New York, following Sharif's call for a plebiscite in Kashmir.
