German survey: Two-thirds worry about Saxony-Anhalt election outcome

Two-thirds of Germans are concerned about the outcome of the state election in Saxony-Anhalt, according to an ARD "Deutschlandtrend extra" survey. Nearly a quarter are pleased with the result. The survey shows 48 percent oppose Ulrich Siegmund becoming minister-president, while 45 percent support it. A majority of 51 percent want other parties to more strongly involve the AfD in political work. The AfD won the election with nearly 44 percent, more than doubling its 2021 share, but lacks a majority. The CDU fell to 17.2 percent. Only 10 percent are satisfied with the federal coalition.
