Saxony-Anhalt: Wagenknecht open to AfD cooperation, but rejects its candidate for premier

Following the election in Saxony-Anhalt, BSW founder Sahra Wagenknecht has expressed openness to cooperating with the AfD, though she insists on a non-partisan minister-president. The AfD has rejected this proposal. Wagenknecht stated the BSW would work with any party willing to implement desired changes, while noting significant opposition to certain AfD positions. She reiterated her party's proposal for a minister-president respected across party lines, a suggestion also supported by BSW leader Amira Mohamed Ali. AfD leader Tino Chrupalla firmly rejected the model, insisting on their own candidate Ulrich Siegmund for the position. He dismissed cooperation with the BSW, which he described as a small party, and ruled out supporting a cross-party candidate.
