AfD thanks Elon Musk after Saxony-Anhalt election win

Germany's far-right AfD party won a significant victory in the Saxony-Anhalt state election, increasing its share to 43.8%, and its lead candidate publicly thanked Elon Musk for his support. The AfD's candidate, Ulrich Siegmund, thanked Musk on X for his "clear and extremely important perspective," after Musk posted "Bravo!" to AfD co-leader Alice Weidel. The party won 39 of 83 seats, while the CDU secured 17.2%, and other parties trailed further behind. The result drew concern across Europe, with French and Polish officials warning against nationalism and xenophobia. The German Economic Institute cautioned that the AfD's migration policies could harm the region's aging economy, while critics also raised security concerns over the party's pro-Kremlin stance.
