AfD leader Chrupalla seeks coalition partners after Saxony election win
AfD leader Tino Chrupalla said after the state election that his party is willing to compromise to form a government in Saxony-Anhalt, including on migration policy, and extended an offer of talks to other parties. Chrupalla stated on the talk show "Caren Miosga" that politics always involves compromise and that the election result gives the AfD the initiative. He addressed the CDU, urging its lawmakers to support a conservative majority, and suggested the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) could be a suitable partner. The AfD narrowly missed an absolute majority with 44 percent of the vote. Chrupalla dismissed the incumbent CDU minister-president as defeated and framed the result as a historic "second turnaround" that would extend to Berlin.
