CDU's Schulze calls for new state board election after Saxony-Anhalt defeat

After the CDU's collapse in the Saxony-Anhalt state election, Minister-President Sven Schulze announced a new election of the party's state board for late November or early December, acknowledging the party no longer has a governing mandate. Schulze led the CDU as its top candidate, but the party's support plummeted from 37.1 percent in 2021 to 17.2 percent, reducing its parliamentary group from 40 to 15 seats.
