Wagenknecht open to working with AfD for change in Saxony-Anhalt

Sahra Wagenknecht has left open how her BSW party might cooperate with the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt, stating she is open to working with anyone willing to push for change. She emphasized, however, that the BSW would offer clear resistance to AfD positions it does not share. Wagenknecht reaffirmed her party's proposal for a non-partisan minister-president who could govern with changing majorities, extending the invitation to the AfD. She noted AfD lead candidate Ulrich Siegmund has rejected this and is instead seeking talks with CDU lawmakers, which she said is his prerogative. The BSW narrowly surpassed five percent in the state election, while the AfD won 43.8 percent. Wagenknecht ruled out a coalition with the AfD before the vote but did not exclude selective cooperation on specific issues.
