Global Poll Shows 46% Expect AI to Cut Jobs More Than Create Them

The survey showed pessimism was most pronounced in higher-GDP nations, with 71% of U.S. respondents predicting job losses, up from 64% two years ago. Young adults and those with higher incomes or education levels also reported greater anxiety about AI's labor market impact. Pew noted rising concern about AI in several countries since last year, and found liberals were more pessimistic than conservatives about inequality, particularly in the U.S. Experts say AI's actual labor market impact remains marginal so far, though industry hype may be fueling public skepticism.
