Claude now leads 26% of Anthropic's AI research work

Anthropic reported that its AI model Claude now leads 26 percent of the company's AI research and development work, a metric it will publish regularly to track AI's role in building future technology. The San Francisco startup said AI collaborated with humans on over 90 percent of research work as of August, up from 1 percent in March, using a scale by Epoch AI. Claude is not fully autonomous in any measured task, and every agent action is screened. Anthropic disclosed that about 30,000 AI agents worked on its platform in August, with roughly one in 47,000 decisions blocked. It also noted 6 to 12 percent of computing power went to safety work, amid industry concerns about autonomous AI behavior.
