Global survey: 71% of Americans expect AI to cause job losses

The study surveyed 50,838 people across 37 countries, finding wealthier nations and young adults aged 18-34 expressed the most concern about job displacement. In the U.S., AI was the leading reason cited for job cuts in July, with 23,000 positions eliminated. Uncertainty dominated responses in many countries, with higher awareness of AI often correlating with greater optimism. Most surveyed nations believed AI will increase economic inequality, with the U.S., Australia, and South Korea showing the strongest concern.
