Apple Watch doubles RAM to 4GB without price increase
Apple has doubled the RAM in its upcoming Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models to 4GB, up from 2GB, without increasing prices, a change discovered by developers in Apple's Xcode 27 environment. The Series 12 starts at €449 and the Ultra 4 at €899. The RAM increase is reportedly necessary for new AI features powered by the new S11 processor, a 64-bit dual-core chip with a four-core Neural Engine. These features include Live Rewind, which transcribes the last 15 seconds of speech, and Siri Recap for meeting summaries, though Audio Intelligence won't initially launch in the EU. Flash storage remains unchanged at 64GB, which Apple says is sufficient for most users who store content like podcasts on their iPhones. The watches are available for preorder now, with delivery starting September 18, and the Series 12 introduces an optional ceramic case in two colors.
