Apple has updated its entry-level Bluetooth earbuds, introducing the AirPods 5 in two variants with improved active noise cancellation (ANC), which Apple claims is 50 percent more effective than the previous generation. Both models feature an open design without silicone tips, a stem with a pressure sensor, and support for live translation. The pricier version adds a swipe gesture for volume control and a charging case with wireless Qi, MagSafe, and Apple Watch charging capabilities. The AirPods 5 are available for preorder starting September 9, priced at 149 euros for the base model and 169 euros for the enhanced version, with retail availability scheduled for September 18.
