Apple Watch Series 12 adds Readiness score and Health Age to rival WHOOP
Apple launched the Apple Watch Series 12 on Wednesday, introducing a Readiness score and Health Age metric to compete directly with WHOOP's health tracking platform. The new device measures heart rate every five seconds using its Health Sensing System and S11 chip. The Readiness score rates daily capacity from 0 to 10, analyzing activity, sleep, and vitals to offer recommendations like Recover or Go For It. Apple also increased HRV measurement frequency up to 24 times, separating recovery HRV from overall HRV against personal baselines. The Health Age feature, arriving later this year, estimates physiological age. WHOOP retains advantages with its screen-free, distraction-free design and ecosystem-neutral support for Android and iOS. However, Apple Watch offers workout displays and safety features like ECG and Fall Detection. Pricing starts at ₹56,900 in India, significantly higher than WHOOP's ₹21,990 entry point.
