Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 claim most accurate heart rate sensor yet
Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, featuring what it claims is the most accurate heart rate sensor in wearable history, with a release date of September 18. The new watches use an optical and electrical heart rate sensing system with the S11 chip, measuring heart rate every five seconds and heart rate variability up to 24 times more frequently than previous models. A new daily "readiness" score analyzes activity, training load, and sleep to provide recommendations. The Series 12 starts at 71,800 yen with aluminum, titanium, and ceramic case options, while the Ultra 4 starts at 142,800 yen with a grade 5 titanium case. Pre-orders begin September 10, and an "Audio Intelligence" feature for sound recognition and Shazam will arrive later this year.
