Apple's AirPods 5 Add ANC at 23,800 Yen, Replacing Pricier AirPods 4

Apple has announced the AirPods 5, its new standard in-ear model, with active noise cancellation (ANC) now standard. Pre-orders have begun, with a release date of September 18. The price is 23,800 yen, representing a significant effective price reduction. The AirPods 4, released in 2024, offered a standard model for 23,800 yen and an ANC version for 32,800 yen. The AirPods 5 includes ANC at the lower price point. A version with a wireless charging case, priced at 27,800 yen, offers longer battery life and swipe-based volume controls. ANC performance is up to 50% stronger than the previous model, with enhanced transparency mode and conversation detection that lowers volume when the user speaks. The earbuds also support live translation and Siri AI features when paired with iPhones compatible with Apple Intelligence.
