Apple launches AirPods 5 with 50% stronger noise cancellation, starting at $129 on September 18

Apple has announced the AirPods 5, with sales starting September 18. The open-ear design features noise cancellation improved by 50% over the previous generation, plus Apple Intelligence integration for real-time translation and hands-free Siri. The standard model with active noise cancellation costs $129, while a premium model with additional features costs $149. Both are available for pre-order starting today. The open-ear design uses a new multi-port acoustic structure and adaptive EQ for immersive spatial audio. The premium model adds swipe controls on the stem for volume adjustment, a longer 5-hour battery life, and wireless charging support. The standard model offers up to 4 hours of playback, extendable to 20 hours with the charging case.
